New Feature: Pantry Playlist

Instead of cooking and taking pictures, I spent most of the weekend on my couch with a bad sinus headache. It was not fun. Anyway, in lieu of posting about food, I thought I’d write about something that, for me, goes hand in hand with cooking: music. In fact, I’d like to make this a regular feature on this blog. For me, there’s nothing better on a Saturday afternoon than turning on my favorite tunes and trying out a new recipe.

I found a really great French Internet radio station that plays old soul music. Lately, that’s what I’ve been turning to while cooking. There’s nothing like a little Al Green to put you in the mood for, um, cooking:

Al Green — Let’s Stay Together

What do you like to listen to while in the kitchen?

  1. Yes! Saturday cooking/baking with good tunes is ideal! I listen to various things…if its a complicated recipe, music with no words like Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds. Sometimes I listen to NPR, sometimes something upbeat like Jonsi (another Icelandic dude). I’m fickle.

    • NPR is another favorite of mine. I’ve never heard of either one of those Icelandic artists, but I’ll definitely have to check them out! I’m always up for new music. 🙂
